Cultural cooperative Uulu’s Biisinikkarit is the touring workshop of the Children's Pirkkaset cultural month in 2025

Cultural cooperative Uulu’s Biisinikkarit workshop has been chosen for the touring workshop of the Children's Pirkkaset. In February 2025, the workshop will tour the municipalities of Pirkanmaa, delighting children and families. Biisinikkarit workshop includes Pirkkaset's 2025 theme “participation”.

In children's culture, children's participation and encouraging children's play and creativity are important values. "Making songs together gives a new perspective on creativity: it shows that everyone can be creative and make music themselves." says Uulu's program manager Petra Käppi. In the Biisinikkarit workshop, a brand new song with words, tunes and arrangements is created with the counselors and children. The inspiration and theme comes from the participants, i.e. the children, and they get to influence the song's structure from the beginning. The final result of the workshop is a song created together, which will be recorded and made available to the participants after the workshop.

Pirkkaset's touring workshop was applied through Pirkanmaa's Kulttuuripankki and the selection was made by the regional Children's Pirkkaset working group.

Lasten Pirkkaset is a common children's culture month of the municipalities of Pirkanmaa. During the month children's culture can be seen and heard all over Pirkanmaa.
