Midwinter Magic event on January 5th

Culture highlight #1: Midwinter Magic is a free event for the whole family at the Tampere Hall. The event is a part of the Moomin 80 celebrations in Tampere. We invite you to get inspired and enjoy, and offer an exciting taste of what the anniversary of the beloved characters has in store for our home town.

Unleash your imagination in the paper architecture art workshop or experience the Moomin Valley animation series as a marathon. Enjoy pancakes and music: The Tampere Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble offers a musical experience by performing Erna Tauro's Autumn Song and at the same time the world's largest pancake buffet is available for purchase in restaurant Tuhto. During the event, the beloved Moomin characters will meet and greet the visitors. The Kennel Club's reading dogs will also be there, eagerly awaiting for the Moomin stories.

While you're there, come and say hello to the Moomin statue in a familiar spot in Sorsapuisto in front of Tampere Hall!

Tampere is home to the world's only Moomin museum. Just as the doors of Moomin house are always open to everyone, so the doors of the Moomin museum are open to everyone, free of charge during the celebrations: everyone is welcome, everyone is cared for and everyone is accepted as they are. Come and join the party!

The event is organised by the City of Tampere, in cooperation with the Moomin museum, Tampere Hall, Tampere Philharmonic, Yle, Gutsy Animations and Kennel Club reading rogs.
