Koominenkin kabaree shows during Armas festival 17-28 March
Armas festival, a national art and culture festival for seniors will be held in Tampere for the ninth time between 17–30 March 2025. The Armas festival is celebrating aging and elderly people by and through art. During the two-week art and culture festival, various events, exhibitions, performances and other cultural programmes are organized around Tampere to support seniors’ well-being through art and culture. This year, Finlandia award-winning writer Sirpa Kähkönen is the patron of the Armas festival.
Sirpa Kähkönen's greeting to Armas festival’s friends:
-Art and culture are important creators of inclusion in our society. Cultural life is, as the name suggests, life’s moments experienced and lived together... With the help of art and culture, we learn interesting and inspiring things about ourselves, other people and the entire ecosystem. An artist is a naturally curious and enthusiastic being. Such a person is also a friend of art and culture.
The Joyful Cabaret (in Finnish Koominenkin kabaree) performances of Jouko Enkelnotko and Henna Leppänen are also part of the Armas festival program. The Joyful Cabaret is full of harmony and humour that makes the audience laugh and enjoy life. The show has surprising twists, throws and moving moments. Singer-actor Enkelnotko interprets the songs with two voices, one of them a sonorous countertenor. The accordion plays brightly, the roles changes on the fly and the show also features a surprise appearance by Armas clown. Free entry!
