Iidesjärvi is known as a great bird lake, but it bears the scars of human actions. Nekala's former landfill was located next to it, and so much waste has ended up in Iidesjärvi that it is not even recommended to swim in the lake. Come on a trip to get to know the wounds of the former landfill and offer a gesture of beauty to this wounded garden as a reminder that it has not been forgotten.
We will start with a 30 min walk to the landfill. We will be opening our sensors and body-minds towards the environments while walking, and then spend some time at the landfill and finally return the same route back. We will be guided by environmental biologist and teacher Tuomas Lilleberg and research professor and dance-movement therapist Sofia Laine. The actual tour ends at 18.45 in Nekala but we will walk back to Tampere-talo at 19.30.
The event is free and open for everyone. No registration needed.
