Facility rental at The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region

The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region rents out Sampola’s facilities to external organizations. The facilities are widely available, especially outside of the teaching periods.

In addition to The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region, Sampola houses Tammerkoski upper secondary school, Sampola library, and Pirkanmaan Voimia’s Cafeteria Pulina.

Events in Sampola’s open spaces and cafeteria can only be organized in collaboration with The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region, Tammerkoski upper secondary school, Sampola library, or Voimia, or by agreement.

Sampola, completed in 1962 and renovated in 2012, was designed by architects Timo Penttilä and Kari Virta, and the library building was designed by architect Matti Silvennoinen in 2003.

General information about Sampola’s rental facilities

• The banquet hall accommodates 534 people. The banquet hall’s sound console is a Yamaha QL 5, and the lighting console is an ETC Gio@5. For more information about the AV equipment and connection possibilities, please contact Sampola’s custodians, whose contact details are at the bottom of the page.
• The auditorium accommodates 200 people. The auditorium is equipped with presentation technology and has four wireless microphones ready for use.
• In the basement of Sampola, there are functional teaching spaces of 200 m² and 100 m², named Marjatta and Severi halls.
• The computer lab has teaching facilities for 17 students.
• Additionally, there are regular classrooms available for rent, equipped with a computer, projector, document camera, and smartboard.

Venue rental is done through a reservation form, which is available only in Finnish. For questions about reservations, Sampola’s custodians are available to assist.

Rental and usage terms

Sampola primarily uses its facilities for its own activities, but the facilities are rented out when they are available. Renters must carefully review the rental terms listed in the attachment.

The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region follows the general reservation and usage terms of the City of Tampere for facility rentals.

Information on facility rental pricing

Sampola’s facilities are rented according to the list prices determined by the Cultural and Leisure Committee.

• Upon confirmation of the reservation, we provide the renter with a calculation of the rent and other costs according to the reservation form. Other costs may include services of custodians and technical staff, cleaning, and possible rental of technical rooms.
• The renter must specify the rental period from the time they arrive at Sampola until the last person leaves. The Adult Education Centre schedules the custodians’ shifts according to the reservations.
• The time for technical staff should also be specified according to when the sound or lighting technician needs to be present. Please note that sound and lighting design are not included in the duties of the sound and lighting technicians.
• The final rental invoice will include any additional time outside the original reservation and any extra spaces not mentioned in the reservation, as well as additional labor costs.
• For larger events, the renter will also pay for additional cleaning according to the price attachment. For multi-day reservations, additional interim cleaning is agreed upon separately.
