Instructions for guardians of new students

Each guardian of an underage upper secondary school student must follow their study-related matters through Wilma.

  1. Create your own Wilma account: follow the instructions for creating guardian accounts.
  2. In your Wilma view, complete the form “Lukio: Tietokoneen lainauslupa” (Upper secondary school: Computer loan authorization). If you have not filled this form, the student will not receive a computer on the first day.

Upper secondary school students’ computers and study materials

All students within compulsory education are provided with computers and most textbooks as digital learning materials. Computers will be distributed and are needed on the very first day of school. However, students can receive a computer only if their GUARDIAN has completed the loan authorization form in Wilma!

At the start of their studies, all new first-year students at Rellu participate in the “Lukio tutuksi” (Getting to Know High School) study module. During these lessons, students learn how to use their school computer and its associated software. They also practice updating the Abitti USB stick and familiarize themselves with electronic learning environments.

On enrolment, students are required to commit to the following rules:

Rules for using borrowed digital devices for study purposes (link below):

Opiskelukäyttöön lainattavien digitaalisten laitteiden käyttösäännöt (pdf) (118.06 KB)

Rules for using information systems and data networks (link below):

Tietojärjestelmien ja tietoliikenneverkon käyttösäännöt (pdf) (210.52 KB)

Timetable

First-year students receive a set timetable for the first period. Based on the subject choices made in the enrolment form, students are also assigned language courses for the entire academic year. Language choices can be changed later, even after the first-period info sessions on language choices. Students can also choose their mathematics level later. The first-year timetable mainly consists of compulsory courses, so there is no need to worry about elective courses just yet.

Tuudo

Tuudo serves as an electronic, official student card, accessible through a free app downloaded on their phones. With Tuudo, students can also prove their eligibility for student discounts with Matkahuolto (bus and coach services) and VR (Finnish Railways). Upper secondary students should download the card on their phones from either the Play Store or the App Store.

Download instructions:

  1. Download Tuudo from Play Store or App Store.
  2. As "Oppilaitos" select "Tampereen toisen asteen koulutus".
  3. Log in with your Wilma credentials.

Meals and Special Diets

Students register for daily school meals using the Tuudo app.

Pirkanmaan Voimia manages the school cafeteria. When required, a student with a severe allergy or health condition is provided with a meal suited to their needs. This may differ from the standard menu. A statement on food allergies, celiac disease, vegan diets or other medically necessary special diets should be provided by a medical professional such as a doctor, dietitian, or nurse. No separate notification is required for vegetarian or lactose-free diets.

Detailed instructions for notifying the school kitchen about special dietary needs can be found on the City of Tampere website under “Erityisruokavalion ilmoittaminen” (Notifying on special dietary needs).

School transport subsidy

Upper secondary students apply for a school transport subsidy (koulumatkatuki) using the online application in OmaKela.
