Fashion Phenomenons - collages, colour trends and fashion creations for the catwalk

This fall, sixth-grade students visited the Museum Milavidan's Fashion on the Top -exhibition and then took part in a fashion-themed workshop in Taidekaari's Fashion Phenomenon -workshops. 

The Children's Gallery displays collages of fashion images, color trend forecasts and own fashion creations for the catwalk. In the videos shot at Näpsä's workshops, the catwalk belongs to everyone and the fashion creations come to life. The artists are from classes 6A of Koivistonkylä School, 6B of Kaarila School, 6B of Linnainmaa School, 6E of Tampere International School and 6BK and 6C of Tammela School. 

Taidekaari's workshops were directed by visual artist Laura Laurila, Community Art School Hehkumahku and Handicraft and Design School Näpsä. In total, 34 classes and 757 students from twenty schools in Tampere participated in the event.

Children's Gallery: Paint the World! - Handprints created at the Children's Cultural Centre Rulla's exhibition
21.9.-27.10. 

The Children's Gallery's exhibition presents works collected from the Children's Cultural Centre Rulla's Paint the World! -exhibition. In the exhibition, the walls, floor and exhibits have served as the basis for making art. Various tools have been available, from paints to pens and chalks. The works belong to everyone and no one at the same time - they have been shaped into layers and collectives from the joy of splashing, drawing and painting. The works show the handprints of babies, children and adults.

16.8.-15.9.2024

The influence days organized by the Tampere Youth Services for 4th graders were held in the spring 2024. In Rulla and Taidekaari's workshop, the children could tell what they wanted more and less from adults on different coloured pieces of paper, which were put together in the exhibition.

During the spring of 2024, colours, creatures and various characters appeared on the outer walls of Culture House Laikku. The art made by children can be seen at the parade place in the center of Tampere, when the artworks created in the activities of the Children's Cultural Centre Rulla and the cultural education program Taidekaari took over part of the tarpaulin covering Culture House Laikku. 

The works can be seen on Laikku's exterior walls during the facade renovation until the end of 2024.

In the spring of 2024, art made by pre-school and young students was seen in the park areas of Tampere. In art planting boxes spring flowers were accompanied by important messages written on flags, growing sculptures and shelters for little creatures and colourful animals. The works for the boxes were made by pre-school students in the Taidekaari workshops, whose themes were architecture, public art and urban nature. 

The art planting boxes have been implemented in cooperation with the cultural education program Taidekaari and the green planning of the City of Tampere, Tampere Infra and the Tampere Parish Union.

Children's and Youth's Gallery can also be seen at tram stops around Tampere in the summer! 

A total of 14 artworks can be seen at the stops from the Children's Gallery exhibitions that were on display in the Culture House Laikku's Corridor Gallery in the spring 2024, as well as from Taidekaari's Rytmireilaajat entirety.
