The Curriculum For Pre-Primary Education
The purpose of the pre-primary education curriculum of the City of Tampere is to ensure high-quality and equal pre-primary education in all its pre-primary education units. We implement the pre-primary and initial education operating model as well as strong school pathway -specific collaboration all the way from early childhood education to upper secondary school.
The Tampere pre-primary education curriculum emphasises:
- consideration of an individual's needs as a member of the community
- the importance of education and eco-social education, a key element of which is the adoption of a sustainable lifestyle
The Tampere pre-primary education curriculum is grounded in the Basic Education Act and the National Core Curriculum for Pre-Primary Education.
City of Tampere Curriculum for pre-primary education
A child’s pre-primary education learning plan and the pre-primary education unit’s curriculum
In pre-primary education, a personal learning plan will be drawn up for the child in the autumn, after the preschool staff have first got to know the child and observed the child and their activities. The learning plan will be recorded electronically in the eVaka system in cooperation with the guardians.
The preschool children's learning plans serve as the basis for the curriculum plan of the preschool unit to be drawn up in the autumn at the beginning of the activities. The school year plan describes how the activities of the pre-primary education unit support the development of the comprehensive competence of the pre-primary pupil and implement cooperation between pre-primary and initial basic education.
