Rules for using the library's hobby rooms and facilities

Welcome to use the hobby facilities and equipment of Tampere City Library. Please read the rules carefully. Once a workstation is booked for your use, you are also responsible for it.

By using the library's hobby rooms and equipment, you agree to follow these rules of use. Ask for advice if you are unsure about the correct and safe use of the equipment. 

  1. A library card is required to use the facilities and equipment. When you arrive, you must present your library card to the staff.
  2. Use of the hobby rooms is independent. The booking does not include any guidance on how to use the facilities. 
  3. The booker must cancel the booking if they are unable to arrive at the time booked.  
  4. The booking will be cancelled if you do not arrive within 10 minutes of the start of your booking.
  5. A party of people may not make more than one reservation in a row for the same space.
  6. Eating, drinking and the use of intoxicants are prohibited in hobby rooms. 
  7. Users of rooms and equipment must be considerate of other customers, provide peace for work, and respect privacy. You must not disturb other customers by watching, listening to or displaying indecent, violent or offensive material at customer workstations.
  8. The library is not responsible for any damage caused to the customer's equipment on the library premises or when used with the library's equipment.
  9. Hobby rooms are not production lines. The rooms or equipment must not be reserved for large productions or large quantities of goods.
  10. The rooms must not be reserved for professional activities, such as offering lessons for a fee.
  11. Only materials approved by the library may be used for equipment in hobby rooms.
  12. A material fee will also be charged for failed works.
  13. The equipment is under the responsibility of the booker at the time of booking. Any broken equipment or other technical problems should be reported to the staff.
  14. The booker is responsible for any damage caused to the property or movable property. Any damage or shortages must be reported to the library staff.
  15. Users of hobby rooms are responsible for their information security and for the files of their own projects. Your own files will be stored on a memory device or in the cloud before the end of the booking period. You must log out of the services used at the end of the booking.
  16. The rooms must be left in a tidy condition. Loaned equipment is to be returned to the staff after use.
  17. The Library reserves the right to modify and cancel booked times.
  18. If the rules of use are violated, the library has the right to cancel the booking, deny the customer's access to the booked space or suspend the use of the space.
