Working spaces in the Main Library Metso

Open workspace

In the ground floor lobby of the Main Library Metso, there is an open space for working and eating. The space is furnished with groups of tables, sofas and armchairs and is free to use without a reservation. There is no technical equipment.

Silent study areas

The silent study area on the ground floor has 35 reading places and armchairs. The main floor silent study area has 12 reading places.

The silent study areas are open to all: you can come and read and work without a reservation. The reading stations are equipped with power sockets and you can use your own computer. Talking on the phone and eating snacks in the silent study areas is prohibited.

Project rooms in the Main Library Metso

The booking of project rooms has moved to the Varaamo service. To make a reservation, you will need a PIKI library card.

The project rooms are located on the ground floor in the lobby. Clients over 15 years of age can reserve a project room for a maximum of three hours per day. Reservations can be made up to eight days in advance. A client can have one reservation for each project room at a time.

  • Book a project room on the Varaamo service.
  • To make a reservation, you need a library card number and a four-digit pin code.
  • The key can be collected from the lobby services on the main floor. 

Note! Your reservation will expire if you do not arrive within 30 minutes of the start of your reservation.

Hervanta Library

Reading room

The quiet reading room is located on the main floor of the library. The reading room is freely accessible without a reservation.

Multi-purpose room

In the free multi-purpose room you can play your own instruments and sing. The room is also suitable for small group work and meetings. The room has a small table and six chairs.
There is also a sewing machine. 

You can book a room using the Netloan reservation system, with a maximum booking time of two hours. To make a reservation, you will need a PIKI library card and a four-digit pin code. 

Koilliskeskus Library

The mobile space Hiekka is a quiet, soundproofed working space for two people. It has a power socket and a lockable door.

Clients over 15 years of age can reserve the Hiekka space for a maximum of two hours per day. Reservations can be made up to eight days in advance. The room is booked through the Netloan reservation system. You will need a PIKI library card and a pin code to make a reservation.

Note! Your reservation will expire if you do not arrive within 10 minutes of the start of your reservation.

Lielahti Library

All workstations have sockets for portable devices and an open wireless network.

Quiet reading room

The reading room has three reading stations with a desk and an office chair. Reading places cannot be reserved in advance.

Work booths

Next to the newspaper reading room there are three work booths with a door. In the booths you can for example work or take part in remote meetings. Two of the booths can accommodate one single person, the third is suitable for two persons. The booths are not available for reservation.

Messukylä Library

The meeting room is freely available as a reading room when there are no reservations.

Sampola Library

The library has a quiet reading room.

Tesoma Library

There are work booths for quiet working in the library.
