The Amazing Race of Caring
Gather a team for The Amazing Race of Caring and participate in doing good!
The City of Tampere encourages residents to take part in The Amazing Race of Caring from April 1 to May 31, 2025. Residents can form their own teams and join in volunteer activities. Register your team for the competition by March 31, 2025.
The Amazing Race of Caring is being held for the first time. It is an open team competition aimed at inspiring people to participate in low-threshold volunteer activities and to create well-being, community, and a responsible culture of caring together.
Participants are sought from, for example, employees of companies and organizations, students and teachers of educational institutions, members of clubs and associations, as well as other citizen groups and residents. A competition team can be as simple as a group of friends.
The competition offers various volunteer opportunities where teams can choose to engage with people through activities such as socializing, outdoor activities and sports, music, visual arts, poetry, reading, crafts, and environmental and nature conservation. Teams can choose from the given options which volunteer activities they want to participate in. All encounters and activities are equally valuable.
Additionally, teams can find their own location and method for their volunteer activity (e.g., a choir offering a performance at a service home). In this case, the team contacts the desired location and registers it as their competition venue.
Depending on the size and needs of the target group, the volunteer activity can involve teams of varying sizes. Points are awarded based on the number of participants in the team and the time spent on volunteer activities. The best teams and municipalities will be rewarded by the competition organization.

Registration Instructions:
- Form a competition team (at least 3 people)
- Go to the website The Amazing Race of Caring (in Finnish)
- Click on “Kisaohjelma” in the navigation bar
- Select your municipality, Tampere, from the list
- Choose a suitable volunteer activity from the list of events and click the registration button next to it
- Register for the volunteer activity using the form that opens below the button
