Bathing water quality

The Health Protection Services monitors the water quality of public bathing and winter swimming areas and public swimming pools. The control is based on the Health Protection Act.

The City of Tampere's environmental health control area includes the following municipalities: Tampere, Orivesi, Juupajoki, Kangasala, Pälkäne, Valkeakoski, Akaa and Urjala.

The establishment of a new public bathing beach, winter swimming area or swimming pool for public use must be notified to the municipal health protection authority. The notification must be made under the Health Protection Act.
