Disc golf courses

There are currently five disc golf courses in the parks of Tampere: in Vaakonpuisto park in Kaarila and Epilä area, Vihiojanpuisto park in Nekala and Veisu area, Näyttämönpuisto park in Etelä-Hervanta, and Sellupuisto park in Hiedanranta. In addition, the new Tampere Disc Golf Centre was opened in Alasjärvi in summer 2018.

The courses in Tampere have no lighting but you can use discs with LED lights for playing in the dark.

Vihioja and Hervanta disc golf courses are maintained by Tampereen Frisbeeseura association and the City. The course in Epilä is maintained by Pirkanmaan Frisbeegolf association. The courses have information signs and signposts for the individual fairways.

About playing disc golf

The disc golf courses in Tampere are freely available to everyone, and no booking is needed. Disc golf can be played round the year. It is suitable for people of all ages, and you can start with just one frisbee. You usually go around the course in groups of two to four people, but you can also do it alone or with a larger group. You aim to throw your frisbee into each basket of the course, using as few throws as possible to get around the course.

You should take other park users and players into consideration. Check that there are no people on the fairway that your frisbee could hit. Make sure that the previous group of players has reached the end of the fairway before you start on it. Keep the park clean. Do not damage trees and shrubs.
