Youth culture centre Monitoimitalo 13

Monitoimitalo 13 is a cultural centre for the youth services of the City of Tampere, offering opportunities for leisure and recreational activities for young people and parents in many ways. The building has open and supervised activities, workshops, events, courses and rental facilities.

The multi-purpose building Monitoimitalo 13 is located in central Tampere right next to Hotel Tammer, the main fire station and Koskipuisto Park.

Ground floor 

On the ground floor, you will find the building’s caretaker services. An art exhibition room Galleria Vivi is also located in the entrance hall. Read more about Galleri Vivi

2nd floor

On Monitoimitalo 13's second floor, you can dive into the world of music and media. Hobby groups get acquainted with making beats, loops and rap lyrics, and they make movies and social media content. Stage on the first floor also provides access to various events, or you can even organise your own event. The first floor also includes Demostudio, where you can record high-quality demos at affordable prices. Pajasto’s music, media and A/V workshops operate on the first floor every day. 

3rd floor

The third floor of Monitoimitalo 13 is dedicated to handicrafts and visual arts. There are four different facilities on the floor: Verstas, Keramiikka, Tekstiili and Ateljee for workshops, ceramics, textile work and arts. 
This floor is a place where you can decide for yourself what you will do and be inspired by a vast selection of different materials. A wide range of tools is available, and skilled instructors are always helpful. In Monitoimitalo 13’s accepting and relaxed atmosphere, creativity can easily be unleashed. Handicrafts and art are tools of self-expression, and we want to respect everyone’s individual way of being creative. 

The activities of the handicraft floor are aimed at young people aged 9–29. The activity is free of charge in terms of instruction and use of the equipment, the materials you use are chargeable according to consumption, and the prices are really low. The facilities also offer free things to do, and you can use your own materials if you wish. 

4th floor 

On the 4th floor, you can rent facilities for meetings and hobbies. Rental facilities are also available on other floors. Each space is equipped with modern equipment, and it can be equipped as needed in a versatile manner. For meetings, you can get a cup of coffee from Café 13. 

In addition to space and equipment, Monitoimitalo 13 has sound and lighting technology professionals, whose skilled work contribution can be ordered in connection with the space reservation. A separate fee is charged for the work. 
The Wivi Lönn Hall on the 3rd floor also serves as the home stage of the Tampere Youth Theatre. In addition, other hobby groups of the cultural centre gather in the hall. 
 

5th floor

Pajasto’s handicrafts and art workshops operate on the fourth floor of the building. Also the youth services office can be found on the fourth floor.
