Tampere will host the Men's Floorball World Championship in 2026

The International Floorball Federation has granted Finland the rights to host the 2026 Men's World Championship in Tampere. The group stage will be played in Hakametsä or Kauppi, and from the quarter-finals onwards the championship will be decided at Nokia Arena.

The governing body of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) has decided on the countries and venues for next year's championships at its meeting in Malmö, Sweden. According to the application, the men's championship will be held in Tampere in 2026 and the women's championship will be held in Turku one year later in 2027. The provisional dates for the men's event are 4.-13. December 2026.

The Men's World Cup 2026 will be played at Nokia Arena from the quarter-finals onwards. In the group stage, the venues will be Hakametsä Ice Hall and the new Hakametsä Hall or Kauppi Sports Hall. The games will be played in Kauppi if the new Hakametsä hall is not completed in time. Nokia Arena can accommodate over 13 000 spectators, Hakametsä Ice Hall around 7 000 and Kauppi Sports Hall around 1300.

- Tampere is ready to host the 2026 event, and I believe that a two-event streak in Finland will further strengthen the sport. The December championships and their image-building for the benefit of the cities, the sport and the partners is also a big step forward nationally, says Perttu Pesä, Event Director of Tampere.

In Finland, the championship is held slightly earlier than usual, as the same country has usually hosted them every eight years at the earliest. The last time the men's World Cup was held in Helsinki in December 2021, the last time the women's World Cup was played in Finland was in Tampere in 2015.
