Who will be Volunteer of the Year and Adult of the Year? Nominate the winners

Every year, the City of Tampere rewards people from Tampere who have done remarkable things for others. This year's Volunteer of the Year award is themed around multiculturalism and promoting integration. The Adult of the Year award is given to a Tampere resident working to prevent the marginalisation of children and young people. Nominations for the award are open until 1 October 2023.

Every year, the City of Tampere awards recognition prizes to individuals, groups or communities in Tampere who act in an exemplary way for the benefit of others. The themes of the awards change each year.

This year, the theme of the Adult of the Year award is the prevention of social marginalisation of children and young people. The award is given to an actor who, for example, promotes the mental health of children and young people in Tampere or organises sports, clubs or camps for children and young people.

This year's Volunteer of the Year Award is given to a volunteer who has promoted multiculturalism and integration. The award seeks volunteers who bring joy, support, hope and resources to others and inspire other volunteers to join in the common good.

The people of Tampere are invited to make well-founded suggestions as to who should receive these awards. The nomination form is open until 1.10.2023. If you want to nominate both the Adult of the Year and the Volunteer of the Year, you should fill in a separate form for each.

The City of Tampere Culture and Leisure Committee will decide on the recipients of the award on the basis of the nominations. The winners will be announced on 22.11.2023.
