Tampere invites international talents to "Experience Tampere" week
The City of Tampere launched an international campaign in February to attract technology professionals and startup entrepreneurs to participate in the “Experience Tampere” event week from June 10-14, 2024.
The campaign invited startup founders to register for an opportunity to explore the Startup.Tampere ecosystem and pitch their startups to investors. Tech professionals were invited to apply for open positions at six participating companies from various industries. These companies are Colossal Order, Troll, Huawei, Joinplay Games, TELUS International, and OP Financial Group.
Together with employer companies and the startup community, five technology experts and six startup entrepreneurs from ten different countries, including Brazil, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Latvia, Vietnam, India and Turkey, have been invited to participate in the “Experience Tampere” event week. During the week, four tech professionals will have an onsite final interview with their respective companies and an opportunity to learn more about the company culture and working environment.
International startup founders will have the opportunity to learn why Tampere is a great place for startups by participating in events such as the Startup Tampere Showcase. All participants will also get a glimpse of Tampere's future at the Imagine the Metaverse event.
Everyone taking part in the event week will also have the opportunity to discover why Tampere is the most attractive city in Finland to live in. They will learn about Tampere's services for international talents, the work-life balance, safety, proximity to nature, and affordable housing. Additionally, they will explore Tampere with their families and enjoy Tampere's unique charm through a variety of activities.
The event has already attracted the attention of international media, and media representatives from the Netherlands will also participate in the event week. Last year's participant Başar Kaya is an example of the success of the event, as he is moving his startup company MentalUP to Tampere and settling in the city.
