Use of the Nysse card for paying entrance fees to sports facilities ending

The value loaded on the Nysse travel card has been used to pay for swimming pool and gym fees in Tampere, Nokia and Ylöjärvi. This practice is now coming to an end due to a change in Nysse's payment system. In Tampere, the joint use of the travel card will end on 31 January 2025.

There is no need to change your travel card due to the payment system reform. It is therefore worth keeping the card for possible future travel use, even when the joint use of travel card with sports services ends. The travel card and the value loaded on it will not expire.

"Today, all operators have several payment methods, so hopefully the change will not cause much inconvenience to customers. This reform will help Nysse to move from a card-based to an account-based system for travel cards and to focus on improving the customer experience. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers of the sports services," says Tanja Lehtonen, Development Manager at Nysse.
