City bike season starts on 15.4. - new stations in the west and a single-trip fee introduced

The Tampere City Bike Season 2025 will kick off during Easter week, on 15 April. In the coming season, the network will expand to north-west Tampere. In addition to longer passes, you can choose a single-trip fee to use the city bike for one trip.

New city bike stations in Lielahti and Lentävänniemi – old stations removed

The station network will be extended to north-west Tampere with ten city bike stations. The new stations will be in Hiedanranta, Lielahti, Lintulampi, Lentävänniemi, Niemenranta, Niemi and Ryydynpohja. At the same time, eight low-use stations will be removed, including in Kaukajärvi, Koivistonkylä and Messukylä.

Affordable pricing to be maintained, single-trip fee as part of passes

From the coming season, the city bike will also be available for a single-trip fee. The single-trip fee is €2 and entitles you to one ride of up to 60 minutes. Piloted last autumn, the single-trip fee allows flexible use of the city bikes for occasional users.

Other rights to use the city bikes and their pricing will remain unchanged. A day pass (24 hours) costs €5, a month pass (30 days) €10 and a season pass (from purchase until October 31) €30. These passes include an unlimited number of trips of less than 60 minutes for the duration of the pass. The surcharges and the maximum period of use remain unchanged.

Companies and organisations can also purchase city bike passes for their employees. An employer-provided city bike benefit is a tax-free benefit in kind, just like a commuting benefit.

Easy and carefree

Last season, the city bike service was updated, and the changes were praised by users. Around 80% of respondents to the feedback survey found the service easy and smooth to use and would recommend it to friends. In particular, access to and return of city bikes and the overall usability of the app were significantly improved compared to the first seasons.

The season starts on April 15

The city bike season will start on Tuesday April 15, 2025 and users will be able to buy access from April 10. The city bikes can be accessed via the Tampere City Bikes app, which will remain the same as for the 2024 season.
