Tampere region employment area will launch on January 1, 2025
Public employment and economic development services will be transferred to municipalities as of 1 January 2025. TE offices will be discontinued. The reform also involves transferring responsibility for employment and economic development services for integrating immigrant customers and the promotion of their integration to municipalities.
Residents of Akaa, Juupajoki, Kangasala, Kuhmoinen, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Pälkäne, Ruovesi, Tampere, Urjala, Valkeakoski, Vesilahti, Virrat and Ylöjärvi belong in the Tampere region employment area.
The other municipalities of Pirkanmaa will form the Western Pirkanmaa employment area, and Mänttä-Vilppula will move to the Southern Central Finland employment area.
To promote employment, Tampere region employment area will offer job seekers and employers services such as job placement, information and counselling services, career counselling and career guidance, job search and career coaching, labour market training, work and education trials, professional evaluations and independent studying on unemployment benefit.

Job Market Finland E-services will be unavailable at the turn of the year
A major update will be made to the employment service information systems at the turn of the year.
Job Market Finland's E-service for job seekers and employers will be unavailable from December 30, 2024, 8:00 AM to January 2, 2025, 8:00 AM.
If your matter is urgent and you cannot handle it due to the service interruption, please contact the employment authority of your municipality. If you have already registered as a job seeker, your customer relationship will continue as normal.
The transfer of employment and economic services to the responsibility of municipalities may also cause congestion in the services for job seekers and employers in the municipalities of the employment area at the beginning of the year.
Service delays will not impact the unemployment security of job seekers.
