Pyynikin lukio upper secondary school will start the autumn 2025 semester in Hatanpää. The general upper secondary school will move from Hatanpää to Pyynikki, where its address will be Pyynikintie 2, during winter 2026.
The name change will already have an effect on the joint application process in spring 2025, 18 February to 18 March 2025. Applicants taking part in the joint application process now will already apply for a place at Pyynikin lukio upper secondary school, even though the name will not change officially until the beginning of August.
In addition to applying for the general upper secondary school line or a specialised line with music and music theatre studies, applicants to Pyynikin lukio upper secondary school can apply for the bilingual study programme in general upper secondary school studies in Finnish and English in the joint application process this spring. The line emphasises teaching Finnish as a second language, and English is used as a support language for teaching. The language of completing the matriculation examination is Finnish.
