Viinikanlahti
Viinikanlahti area will go through a thorough transformation over the coming years. When the vast Viinikanlahti wastewater treatment plant is relocated to Sulkavuori in the mid-2020s, the area will be redeveloped into a new lakefront residential district of 3,300 inhabitants.
According to current plans, the new Viinikanlahti residential district will be connected to Tampere city center by a new tram line and a pedestrian bridge across Lake Pyhäjärvi.
