Music rooms Soundi and Rockway

Soundi is a soundproofed room in the music department of the Main Library Metso, with studio recording equipment. The room has string instruments, electric drums, a keyboard, a sampler, microphones and other equipment for recording and making music. 

Rockway Room is a soundproofed room in the music department of the Main Library Metso. It offers basic band instruments, recording facilities and access to the Rockway music tuition service. It is intended for self-guided use, training and study of the courses and content offered by the service. The room is equipped with stringed instruments, electric drums, microphones and a midi keyboard. 

Use of Soundi and the Rockway room is free of charge.

How to use Soundi and the Rockway room

1. Book a room in the booking programme, at the Music Department counter, by calling to the Music Department 040 806 4918, or via email [email protected].

   Soundi or the Rockway room can be booked for a maximum of two hours. Bookings can be made up to eight days in advance and you can have a maximum of three bookings.

2. Check the rules for using the rooms beforehand.
    
3. Show your library card at the Music Service's customer service desk and you will be admitted to the room you have booked. Your booking will be cancelled if you are more than 10 minutes late for the start of your booking.

We will help with technical problems where possible. Please be aware, however, that there will not always be a technically skilled staff available at all times.
