Booking sports and other facilities

For regular and event shifts, please use the application form below. Free individual training slots can be browsed and applied for using the Timmi booking system. Electronic applications in the Timmi system require registration.

If you are applying for a shift from several sports facilities, we recommend that you apply for each sports facility with a separate application.

General principles and hierarchy for the allocation of regular bookings

1. Activities organised by the Sports Services and slots open for the general public

2. Sports clubs registered and operating in Tampere and associations and educational institutions that organise physical activity

3. Day-care centres, schools and educational institutions in Tampere during their operating hours

4. Other recreational and commercial exercise groups in Tampere

5. Other exercise and recreational groups.

In the booking allocations, non-profit associations based in Tampere and socially responsible companies and public limited companies that are involved in national matches and competitions are treated the same as sports clubs in Tampere.

 Factors affecting booking allocations and the hierarchy 

• The applicants’ league levels and the regulations of sports federations
   
• Conditions required by the sport (pitch or hall size, height, etc.)
   
• As a rule, bookings for children and young people are scheduled for the early evening
   
• Regionality and accessibility
   
• For exercise groups that are not sports clubs, the allocation principle is the general interest nature of the activities
   
• The purpose of the sports facility and its special features may change the hierarchy.

 Individual bookings that override other activities  

The Sports Services has the right to cancel individual bookings temporarily during major events or competitions. They include:

• events organised by the Sports Services, or events in whose organisation the City of Tampere has a significant role
   
• major commercial and other events significant for the City
   
• International matches that are part of the selection of sports in the facility/area in question as well as league matches and major tournaments approved by the national federations that are part of approved activities.
   

Planning and allocation of bookings

• The Sports Services allocates the bookings based on applications received and the allocation principles.
   
• The allocation of quota bookings for football fields, swimming pools and ice stadiums is agreed between the federations and clubs.
   
• No time slots are granted to private individuals in ice stadiums and artificial ice rinks.
   

The following principles must be applied in the allocation of slots

• A booking for a training facility is only intended for the members of the sports club or other organization that applied for it.
   
• The booking allocation defines the duration and period of seasonal training slots, and at the weekly and daily level for each pitch/venue. A booking confirmation will be sent to those who have been allocated a slot.

These conditions of use apply to all bookings administrated by the Sports Services.

A booking confirmation is sent to the applicant for slots allocated to them, specifying the time of the slot and the sports venue. The allocated slot is regarded as having been accepted if the applicant does not expressly cancel it as set out in these terms and conditions.

When the customer applies for and accepts a slot, they undertake to comply with these terms and conditions of use and the rules of the sports facility. Failure to do so may result in the allocated booking being withdrawn.

An applicant that has been allocated a time slot must pay the fee set out in the valid price list for the slot. If the fee is not paid by the deadline, the Sports Services can start recovery actions and are also entitled to cancel the time slot in question. The Sports Services may refuse to allocate new bookings to a customer who has neglected to make payments for time slots in sports facilities.

If a booking is not used without giving notification within the cancellation period (see Cancellation of a booking), the fee indicated in the price list will be charged for the booking.

If a match or competition is organised during a training slot, the customer will be invoiced for competition use.

The slot or part of it may not be handed over to a third party.

For the largest user groups, the Sports Services allocates the bulk of the slots to a sports club or some other actor that divides the slots between individual groups. In this case, the Sports Services requires the applicant to indicate in their booking application the age groups that will use the slots. Fulfilling this obligation is also a condition for being allocated slots.

A responsible adult must always be present during a time slot. In facilities supervised by the users, the person responsible for the booking takes care of obtaining the key, access pass or code required for using the slot and is responsible for them as set out in the agreements and rules applicable to the venue in question. They must not be handed over to third parties.
 

In addition to the allocated sports facility, the time slots include the use of any dressing and shower rooms, unless otherwise agreed. A party that has booked facilities for an event may also be invoiced for additional facilities that have to be closed for other uses during the event.

Users must leave the dressing and shower rooms within 15 minutes of the end of their time slot or as required by the instructions and opening hours of the venue.

The users have a responsibility to adapt their activities to the venue in question and only engage in sports or other separately agreed activities for which the venue is suitable. The user can utilise the basic equipment of the venue, including parallel bars, gymnastics mats, volleyball nets and goals. The user must agree on the use of the equipment in detail with the personnel of the venue. The equipment must be used properly, and it must be put away to the right places after use. In the event of breakage of equipment or facilities, the personnel of the venue or the Sports Services’ customer service point, liikuntapalvelut.asiakaspalvelu(at)tampere.fi, must be notified immediately. The user must pay for any damage caused by them.

The time slots must be respected, and the venue must be vacated by the beginning of the next slot. An exception to this may be made for certain competitive events and matches that are played till the end.

As a rule, alarm systems are set based on the users’ time slots, and the user is responsible for any alarms caused deliberately or by accident and for their costs.

Public order and the personnel's instructions must be respected at the venues. The user ensures that the doors remain closed during the time slot at those venues where there is no personnel. The user also ensures that no unauthorised persons can access the facilities or stay in them during the slot. The facilities must be left tidy and in an appropriate condition. If additional cleaning is needed after the user has utilised the facilities, the costs of such cleaning will be invoiced to the user. The user must also notify the personnel of the venue or the Sports Services’ customer service if they observe anything unusual about the facilities.

If a pitch needs to be maintained between slots because of technical or weather-related reasons, the area must be free of users during that time. If the users do not respect a request to leave the pitch, the maintenance will not be carried out.

Sports Services personnel have the right to cancel a booking on a temporary basis. Users who lose their time slot are not entitled to compensation. If a regular booking is not used three times running and the user does not give the appropriate notification, the Sports Services has the right to cancel it.

The user has the right to cancel their booking in the Timmi system or by sending an e-mail to liikuntapalvelut.asiakaspalvelu(at)tampere.fi before the slot.

Any cancellations and changes of bookings must be made at the latest 7 days before the start of the time slot. You must make any cancellations and changes to bookings for tournaments, competitions and camps at the latest 10 days before the event starts. Otherwise you will be invoiced for the original reservation. A double fee will be charged for any hours that exceed the original booking.

The Sports Services have the right to change the time slots and their prices.

The booking prices fall into two different classes. In the price list, the prices of the training shifts are divided into price levels as follows:

Price group 1: Tampere sports clubs, non-profit associations and socially responsible companies

Price group 2: Enterprises and business establishments, private individuals

• Registered sports clubs and associations in Tampere are eligible for sports club fees.
• Non-resident sports clubs, non-profit associations and socially responsible enterprises, double the group 1 fee.        
• Non-resident companies, business establishments, and private individuals, double the group 2 fee. 
• For the construction and dismantling of events, a fee will be charged at the rate of the training shift fees. The junior fee covers persons aged 20 and under. 
• For primary and secondary education, sports facilities free of charge during school days.
  The Director of Sport and Youth has the right to decide on a separate fee if the fee is unreasonable for the client or the city.
