Admission to most of the events during the weekend is free. We have only listed a few events in this article, so you should check the full programme on the Tampereen päivä – Tampere Day website. The Tampere Day programme is created through an open call for events, in cooperation with the citizens of Tampere and various city actors.
The programme will be updated until Friday 29 September, so it's worth following the website until the end of the event weekend. Share your Tampere Day celebrations on social media with the tag #TampereenPäivä.
Swim and exercise for free
On Sunday 1 October, the City of Tampere offers free access to the city's swimming pools and gyms. The open-door sports event aims to give everyone in the city the chance to experience the joy of exercise.
At the same time, the City of Tampere responds to the activity challenge presented by President of the Republic, Sauli Niinistö, during his birthday week in August, with which he wants to encourage Finns to exercise. Get moving and encourage others to do the same on social media using the tag #Liikkumishaaste.
