Aleksander Barkov and the Stanley Cup trophy to visit Nokia Arena
Aleksander Barkov became the first Finnish captain in history to win the NHL Stanley Cup this season with the Florida Panthers. The most coveted trophy in hockey and the champion captain will arrive to celebrate in Barkov's hometown of Tampere.
The event is hosted by Antti Mäkinen. The music will be provided by the Sami Pitkämö Orkesteri.
Other Finnish champions from the Florida Panthers – Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen and Niko Mikkola – will also be at the Arena. Ice hockey coaches Tuomo Ruutu and Ville Nieminen and artist Mikko Töyssy will join the celebrations.
The evening will also include excerpts from the Tappara player's career, as well as speeches from former teammates and prominent Finns.
‒ I hope that our championship will motivate as many children and young people as possible to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams,” says Florida Panthers captain Barkov.
The event is organised by the City of Tampere and Tamhockey Oy.
A free ticket to the celebration must be redeemed from Tappara's website using the link below.
