Climate change will change winter conditions and the opportunities for winter sports

In Tampere, climate change is reflected in increased snow and rainfall, more slippery roads and heat waves in summer, among other things. Mitigating climate change and preparing for and adapting to its effects will require a wide range of changes from all of us.

The City of Tampere's Carbon Neutral Actions Development Programme is a partner in the Save Pond Hockey tournament. The event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the City of Tampere's climate work and also to share your own ideas about sustainable everyday life. Come and discuss what kind of everyday changes you would be willing to make to protect the opportunities for future generations to play the winter sports we all love. Maybe you give your car a day off, recycle your sport equipment or dribble more vegetables in your shopping basket?

The City of Tampere's own climate actions have been compiled in the Carbon Neutral Tampere 2030 roadmap. Taking care of biodiversity is also an important part of climate work. You can follow the progress of both the city's climate and nature work on the Climate Watch.
