This winter, the Haihara Art Centre will experiment with community light art workshops, where two locations in the art centre area will be illuminated. The workshops are part of the development of the Haihara Art Centre and the Kaukajärvi and Annala district programs. Residents of the area have requested community activities and light art as part of the Haihara area in district program surveys and workshops.
In the light art workshops, participants will learn about light and its use, and create two light artworks using various lights and Christmas lights. The workshops will be led and curated by light artist Jussi Kamunen. There are two workshops, the first of which will include a lecture and discussion about light and lighting principles, as well as planning the illuminated locations. The second workshop will involve the actual construction of the light artworks. The lights will be on display at Haihara’s Christmas from December 15th to December 22nd.
The age limit for the workshops is 13 years. There is space for 12 participants. The workshops are free of charge and include a small snack. We hope for commitment to both workshops. Registration is open until November 25th, and the registration link can be found below.
