This year marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Tampere City Council. To celebrate, the City of Tampere is offering free guided tours of the historic Tampere Old City Hall.
The tours, led by Tampere Tourist Guides, will give you an insight into the history of the Neo-Renaissance building, completed in 1890, and the many stories behind it. The tours are conducted in Finnish, but you can ask questions in English during the tour.
The first tour will take place on Monday 27 January 2025 from 5 pm to 6 pm. You can sign up for the tour by clicking on the Eventila link at the end of this news item. There is a capacity of 25 people and places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The guided tours will take place once a month. There will be a separate registration link for each tour, which will open approximately three weeks before the tour. The registration links will be updated in the Tampere event calendar announcement, which can be found at the end of this news item.
