Applications for summer jobs and traineeships for City of Tampere now open

The application period for summer jobs with the City of Tampere has started. The city is hiring summer employees for a variety of tasks in the many services and functions of the city. Submit your application for a summer job through Kuntarekry.

The city is offering a total of 200 summer jobs and traineeships for the coming summer. The largest number of open positions is in early childhood education and care, youth services, as well as sports and culture services. Interesting jobs in planning and administration are also open.

The city is offering students and professionals in the field substitute positions for personnel on annual leave, traineeships for students, and summer traineeships for applicants under the age of 18.

The application deadline is 16 February for summer job applications and 7 March for summer traineeships for 15–17-year-old applicants.

The aim is to make the selections by the end of March, and those selected for the jobs will be personally notified. All applicants are sent e-mails on the receipt of the application, the end of the application period and the on selection once a suitable applicant has been found for the position.

The job descriptions and application forms for summer jobs and traineeships will be available on Kuntarekry on 22 January 2024.

The City of Tampere supports young people's summer employment in many way

  • Summer traineeships in the Tutustu työelämään ja tienaa (‘Get to know working life and earn’) programme: Tampere residents aged 15–17 are offered 130 'Get to know working life and earn' summer traineeships of either one or two weeks. Based on feedback from young people, the city is offering traineeships in customer service and sales, children’s instruction and sports, and in cafés. The summer traineeships are organised by the city’s youth services, early childhood education and care, pre-primary education and sports services. 

    An effort will be made to fill the positions by the end of March. Applicants will be informed of the selections by email. The recruitment services remind young people to keep an eye on their email after the application period has ended.
     
  • Summer job voucher: Young people in Tampere aged 15–17 can apply for the City of Tampere’s summer job voucher. The voucher is worth EUR 320 and available for application through the Summer Job Voucher website from 1 April 2025. The voucher makes it easier for young people to find employment in companies, associations and clubs.
     
  • Summer entrepreneurship voucher: The city encourages summer entrepreneurship together with the local network of entrepreneurs. Summer entrepreneurship vouchers are worth EUR 350 and will be distributed at the summer kick-off event on 3 June, where summer entrepreneurship services are also introduced.
     
  • The Kesäduuni campaign helps under 30-year-old jobseekers and summer job vacancies in the Tampere region find each other. Kesäduuni organises events, job search coaching and support for looking for a summer job.
