City archive information service

As a rule, documents are public and customers can use them in the researcher room of the City Archive. Please contact us by email or telephone on documents ordered for the researcher room, so we can make them readily available in advance.

ARCA - archive information system yksa.fi/tampere

ARCA, the archive information system of the Tampere City Archive, includes information on material stored in the City Archive (Only in Finnish). The database is supplemented continually.

Price list

Ordinary requests for documents are free of charge when the number of pages of the requested copies does not exceed 20 pages or when the documents are already in electronic format in the City Archives.

• Where the number of pages of documents to be scanned/copied exceeds 20 pages, a fee of €3 per page will be charged for each additional page.
• Execution of a request for a document requiring special measures: €80 per hour or part thereof. For more information, see below.
• A surcharge of €5 will be added to all requests to be invoiced.
• Postage for paper copies is €7 per delivery.
  • No postage will be charged if the document request is otherwise free of charge.

A document request requiring special measures is considered a request if checking or removing confidential information from the document requires more work than usual or the document request is exceptionally extensive. Getting to know public documents on site in the city archive is always free of charge. If the request is found to require special measures, the customer is always contacted.

At the city archives, the only payment option on the spot is card payment.
