Hehkumahku Art Workshops in Haihara in July
Community Art School Hehkumahku and its art educators organise four Thursdays in July for children in Haihara courtyard.
Art workshops are suitable for children of all ages and their parents, and they are held near the Pakari building in Haihara’s courtyard.
Art workshops in July on Thursdays: July 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th from 12:00 to 14:00.
- July 4th: We’ll draw and paint our own family at the circus. What tricks does Mom perform? Is Dad a weightlifter or a lion tamer? Who in the family is the circus clown, and who is the ringmaster? Let’s dive into the world of the circus and create colorful paintings. Participants can also draw or paint any other images they like. The workshop will be led by art educator and clown Johanna Peltola.
- July 11th: This workshop focuses on visual arts, with a theme of summer nature and plants. We’ll collect plants and their parts from outdoors. Using art colors, we’ll create interesting images by brushing the plants and using them as natural “stamps.” Participants can also draw or paint any other images they choose. The workshop will be led by art educators Mirja Huumonen and Maija Fadeev.
- July 18th: In the paper doll workshop, we’ll draw, color, and cut out paper dolls and their interchangeable clothes. Participants can create characters like princesses, animals, or any imaginative beings. They can also draw or paint other images of their choice. The workshop will be guided by puppet theater artist Tytti Marttila.
- July 25th: In the urban planning workshop, we’ll explore your ideal city. What kind of houses are there, and what do people do? If you were designing events for Haihara Art Center, what would they be like? We’ll discuss with the children what makes a city comfortable and pleasant. Participants will create urban planning artworks through painting and crafting. The workshop will be led by art educator and sociologist Johanna Peltola.
The cost is €3 per session, payable in cash or by card. No advance registration is required.
