Haihara Spring Carnival welcomes the beginning of spring

The Spring Carnival at the Manor on Friday 21 March from 15-19 presents the diverse art and culture of Tampere. The programme includes:

• Art workshops where you can try out different art techniques, participate in a community art project and make your own carnival accessory.
• A samba performance by the União da Roseira
• Flamenco trio (guitar, song & dance)
• Haaremin Helmet senior dance group
• Fashion show
• Café
• Local artists and operators presenting and selling their products

The fashion show is currently looking for models. You can sign up to be a model and come and show off your style with a piece of clothing or accessory that is important to you. For example, an outfit can be an expression of a certain era or culture, a festive outfit or an accessory with an important memory. We are looking for a diverse group of people from Tampere of different ages and backgrounds to take part in the playful catwalk. In addition to a fun memory, you will receive a professionally taken photo of yourself as a thank you for your participation. The fashion show will be hosted by Sanna, Haihara's coordinator. The Spring Carnival is a co-production of the ARMAS Festival, the Anti-Racism Week and the Tampere City Public Cultural Services.

The ARMAS festival will culminate in the Kartanoconcert on Sunday 30 March at 13 and 16 (same content). The Duo Songbirds will perform. Café by Lions Club Kaukajärvi ry.

Satu Juvonen's photo exhibition "The many faces of ageing" will be on display. The exhibition presents 10 elderly people who have come to Finland on their own paths, through photographs and stories. In today's Finland, more and more of them have roots outside the country's borders. The exhibition will be on display at the Manor from 17 March to 4 April in conjunction with the weekly activities and events.
