Regional associations, welcome to the Tampere Residents' Evenings

In spring 2025, there will be five evenings for Tampere residents in different parts of the city: in Linnainmaa, Nekala, Hervanta, Peltolammi and the city centre. Local associations and communities are welcome to participate in in events to showcase their activities.

Tampere Residents' Evenings are events where people living in Tampere, local associations and communities, and city representatives meet each other. Tampere residents hear about current issues in the city, especially in their own area, can ask questions about them, and share their own views. The programme of the event often includes music or other cultural activities.

Local events also hope to include participants from each area's own actors: neighbourhood and resident associations, communities, and clubs.

– Local associations and communities hear about issues in the area and can provide feedback. They can also use their own presentation stands to inform other residents about their open-to-all activities, says area coordinator Jarno Koskinen.

Associations and communities can sign up for the Tampere Residents' Evenings using the form below.

Five evenings, one of them in English

There will be five Residents' Evenings in different parts of the city in the spring of 2025:

  • Tue 4.3.2025 at 17–19 in Linnainmaa: Koilliskeskus Library, Liikekatu 3
  • Thu 6.3.2025 at 17–19 in Nekala: The Tampere University Teacher Training School (Normaalikoulu), Kuokkamaantie 16.
  • Tue 18.3.2025 at 17–19 in Hervanta: Duo shopping centre, Pietilänkatu 2
  • Thu 20.3.2025 at 17–19 in Peltolammi: Peltolammi school, Säästäjänkatu 16
  • Tue 1.4.2025 at 17–19 in the city centre (in English): Finnish International School of Tampere, Satakunnankatu 60

The events are open to all interested parties - even those who do not live in or near the area.

– Each evening is slightly different in content. In addition to the common content that applies to all Tampere residents, the evenings also include topics of particular interest to the residents of each area, says Koskinen.

This spring, in addition to the Finnish-language events, one of the Tampere Residents' Evenings will be held in English. Associations with English-language activities in different parts of the city are invited to take part in this evening.

The events will be similar to fairs. You can drop in at a time that suits you, explore the material at your own pace and comment on the issues you have to say.

– The people of Tampere have asked for this kind of events, where they can drop in during a shopping trip or visit to the library, for example, says Koskinen.

Hundreds of people attended Residents' Evenings

Tampere Residents' Evenings is one of the ways the City of Tampere offers residents to get information and take a stand on common issues.

The new kind of residents' evenings were launched after a break due to the pandemic. Residents have quickly found their way to the Tampere Evenings.

– Last year we had 16 Tampere Residents' Evenings, with an estimated 1150 people attending. Hervanta had the largest number of participants, attracting around 300 people, says Koskinen.
