The World Figure Skating Championships will be held at the Nokia Arena in Tampere from 15 to 21 March 2027.

The International Skating Union (ISU) granted the Finnish Figure Skating Association the rights to organize the 2027 World Figure Skating Championships, and the City of Tampere together with Nokia Arena offers a unique partnership to the Finnish Figure Skating Association.

– The modern arena offers world-class conditions for athletes and spectators, while Tampere is known for its event expertise, hospitality and excellent services. This combination makes the city the perfect host for the World Figure Skating Championships, says Jouko Pitkänen, President of the Finnish Figure Skating Association.

The Finnish Figure Skating Association last organised the World Figure Skating Championships in Helsinki in 2017 and the European Championships in Espoo in 2023. In addition, Finland has organized the 2019 and 2025 World Figure Skating Championships in Helsinki Ice Hall. At the World Formation Skating Championships, which ended at the weekend, Finland achieved a double victory in a sold-out Helsinki Ice Hall.

– We can be happy and humbly grateful that the series of international prestigious competitions in Finland continues. This shows that the Finnish Figure Skating Association is capable of organizing high quality events where the audience enjoys the atmosphere and the athletes both have fun and achieve their best, says Pitkänen.

The World Figure Skating Championships in Tampere demonstrates the close cooperation between the Tampere city and the Finnish Figure Skating Association and their common will to bring top-level sport to Finland.

– We are proud that Tampere will host the 2027 World Figure Skating Championships. The Nokia Arena will provide a great setting for the world's top athletes and our city has strong experience in organizing major international events. This is a great opportunity to highlight not only top sport, but also Tampere's attractiveness as a city for tourism and events, says Kalervo Kummola, Mayor of Tampere.

The City of Tampere and the Finnish Figure Skating Association are preparing together to welcome the world's best figure skaters and fans of the sport to a memorable World Championship week in 2027.
