Water beasts (Vesipedot)
For children aged from 1.5 to 3 years. The children will play, practise their balance and also dive. The structure of the lessons is designed to improve the child's basic physical activity skills as well as to get them used to water and to develop their water skills. Swimming time 30 min.
Water termites (Vesitermiitit)
For children aged from 3 to 5 and their parents. The children practise putting their faces in water, diving, jumping off the pool edge, floating, gliding and the fundamentals of swimming. The group learns through play. The group has two instructors, which means that any differences in the participants’ levels can be taken into account. The main objective is to learn to dive, float and glide. This group is a great stepping stone to actual swimming lessons and an opportunity to continue the child’s and parent’s shared pastime after the Water termites group.
Family swim (Perheuinti)
A child weighing at least 5 kg and aged from 3 to 10 months can come swimming together with a sibling aged under 6. Separate activities will be organised for both children. Both children must be accompanied by an adult while they are swimming. However, there will always be time for the family to swim together. Swimming time 30 min.
Siblings’ swim (Sisarusuinti)
A group where the younger sibling is at least 9 months and the older one is under 6 years old. A precondition for joining this group is that the family has been through a family swim group, or that the younger sibling has been to baby swimming. If you have not taken part in baby swimming organised by the City of Tampere, you must come to the information session.
The City of Tampere has the right to change the prices. If the water is contaminated by excrement, the City of Tampere is not obliged to compensate participants for cancelled swims.
Water playschool
For children aged from 5 to 6 and their parents. The group practises water skills and the fundamentals of swimming. The group learns through play. The group has two instructors, which means that it can be split up if the participants’ levels are very different. Water playschool is a child’s and an adult’s shared pastime which teaches the adult to guide and assist their child who is learning to swim. Moving on to actual swimming lessons from this group is easy.
