If the guardian accepts the pre-primary education placement proposed for their child, the child does not need to be separately signed up for pre-primary education. The proposed place is accepted in the eVaka system.
However, the guardian must sign their child up to pre-primary education in accordance with the school path through the eVaka system in the following situations:
- if the child’s address is not available in the Population Information System (non-disclosure order for personal safety reasons)
- the child is eligible for extended compulsory education and no proposal for a future place in pre-primary education has been issued
- the child and their guardians have moved to Tampere
- the child moves from one school path to another within Tampere
If the family has rejected the proposed placement for the child or has not received a placement proposal, the child must be signed up to pre-primary education between 20 and 31 January 2025 in the eVaka system.
Options for pre-primary education in accordance with the school path
The guardian may reject the school path-specific pre-primary education placement proposed for their child and sign their child up to
- bilingual pre-primary education organised by basic education (German, French, English)
- pre-primary education provided by private pre-primary education providers (Swedish-language, Christian and Steiner pedagogy)
- pre-primary education with evening and shift care
- Montessori pre-primary education that is not on one's own school path
- another school with pre-primary education than proposed on the basis of their sibling attending the school in question
