Data analytics and automation

The man in the background is looking at a work of light art in which a metallic device is illuminated by green and orange light. On the metal mesh wall on the left are different coloured fluorescent tubes arranged in a beam. The room is filled with violet, green and bluish light.

Examples of using data and automation

Artificial intelligence predicts visitor flows

Businesses in the city centre can prepare for increasing visitor numbers at various events with the help of Tampere Pulse. The service collects data from traffic cameras and weather forecasts in the city centre, and also takes into account days of the week, public holidays and events at the Nokia Arena, among other things. With the help of the collected data, an AI-based forecast of traffic flows is created for the month ahead.

Open data from Tampere region

The Tampere Region Open Data Portal provides approximately 100 datasets and several interfaces free of charge. The portal also features an application gallery, where you can find examples of applications that have utilised the region's data.
