Makerspace Tekomo

Makerspace Tekomon 3D-tulostimet.

What is Tekomo?

Makerspace Tekomo is a new kind of space for creativity in the Sampola library. In Tekomo, everyone can realise their own ideas, learn new skills and share information.

The space is open to individuals, communities and companies.

Tekomo has two 3D printers, a vinyl cutter, a transfer press, a sewing machine, a serger, a laminator, a button maker and a graphics tablet.

You can check Tekomo's opening hours on the Sampola Library's page. Tekomo has no self-service opening hours.

How to use Tekomo

- Reserve a device with your library card through the reservation system. You do not need to book the button maker, laminator or graphic tablet in advance.

- See the instructions for using the machines in advance on this page.

- Read through Tekomo’s Rules of Use in advance. You agree to comply with the rules of use while using Tekomo.

- Arrive at the time that you reserved.

Reservation

You can reserve the 3D printers, the vinyl cutter, transfer press, sewing machine and serger through the reservation system, by phone or by visiting the Sampola IT Centre. The maximum reservation period for these devices is 4 hours a day.

You cannot reserve the laminator, the button maker and the graphics tablet in advance; they are available for everyone during the Tekomo opening hours.

The serger and the sewing machine are reserved together, as are both 3D printers. So, if you want to use the serger, make a reservation for the sewing machine so that you can use both.

It is also possible for groups to reserve the whole Tekomo space. Reserve the room for groups by phone or e-mail.

If you are more than 10 minutes late from the start of the reservation, the reservation may be cancelled and the device can be made available to the next customer.
